Melody G. Carrier (née Chappell) focuses her practice on school law, employment litigation defense, immigration matters, and probate and estate planning. She has extensive experience handling complex litigation in both state and federal courts, as well as appellate work before Texas appellate courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Melody earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and went on to attend South Texas College of Law as a Langdell Scholar, where she was recognized as the most outstanding female graduate. She is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

She is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Texas and National Association of School Attorneys, the College of the State Bar of Texas, and the State Bar School Law and Employment Law Sections. Melody also previously served as a director for both the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association. She has authored and presented multiple papers on key issues in employment and school law.
